EIC completed the complete fit-out of the new build temporary store within 7 days, including externals. The temporary store will primarily serve people from the Northside and Seaton areas of Workington, as well as those out along the coast to Flimby and Maryport, who face a major detour to get into Workington town centre since the floods destroyed or closed the road bridges over the River Derwent.
The electrical crew started the install which consisted of 34 men split between a night and day crew commencing on the containment, fire alarm, lighting installation, small power, mains distribution and externals i.e. car park lighting, gantry signs.
The mechanical crew, consisting of a further 14 men split between nights and days installed all of the mechanical services in the building which consisted of air handling unit, LPHW pipe work/boiler plant, split AC systems to the sales floor and back of house areas, sanitary ware, above ground drainage and external services.
With strong management and a dedicated delivery
team this high profile project was completed within
a challenging timescale.
This was achieved by working closely with the
main contractor and client and understanding the
exact requirements of the contract.
